Srinagar - At a time when at-least two humans have recently died and around 10,000 were bitten by rabid dogs, the animal rights activist are out to defend the stray packs against any actions aimed to harm “interests of the stray canines." This pro-dog move is feared to further the menace, which has assumed alarming proportions in Kashmir with over 100,000 dogs and growing dogs on prowl in the city alone. From shooting apparent hate mail, to lobbying in the corridors of power; the animal rights activists have even allegedly got some fake news reports planted through some New Delhi based media organizations to prevent the authorities from taking any stringent against the mad dogs. Pertinently, while the authorities had recently geared up looking for a multi-pronged strategy to get rid of the menace, nose poking by the animal right activist is feared to unduly favor the dogs. – Greater Kashmir
